Sad to say I forgot for a brief moment yesterday. On the way to work I asked my wife what the deal was with all the flags being up. It took me about 5 seconds after to remember what the date was.

People were piling it into their carts and vehicles as if they were going to be holed up for a year. Stores started putting a limit on what people could buy, and some even had security guarding it. My wife and I had to drive all over just to find a pack for our immediate, basic needs. Finally ended up finding a 4 pack at a convenience store for an inflated price. Seriously, WTF is wrong with people?

Anyone watching Star Trek Discovery?

great to see a trek tv series finally get a reasonable budget.
beautiful costumes, sets, cinematography, action pieces, etc.. really my only complaints are how cg all the ships look and there's a fair bit of stiff dialog from time to time.. what do you guys think of the show?.

I can think of one, in particular.
He was a guy I grew up with. Him and his brother were constantly in trouble as teenagers, even doing time in juvy. Even when he got older he never totally outgrew his rebellious streak. He was irregular, and attended meetings sporadically. I know he straightened up his act, and eventually started pioneering. Still, it came as a bit of a shock when I heard he got appointed as an elder. I also heard he stepped down a few years back, due to a personality conflict with the presiding overseer.

I remember when this went around back in the 80's. I was never allowed to have a KISS record because of it.
Never mind that it was an unsubstantiated urban legend, and that they couldn't name one song that made a single mention of Satan. Once it was repeated from the platform, like everything else it became true to them.
